Love & Sex Q&A #78

Love & Sex78

When you look back on past romances, do you ever wonder what you saw in a former lover?  If so, is it more because you have changed or because you have grown to see the person more clearly.

Yes, because of all the above.  Can that be my answer?  I look back at many of my past romances and wonder what on earth I ever saw in that person.  I can usually come up with some reasoning for it, but looking back those reasons just don’t seem as good now as they did then.

I always try to see the good in a person and trust them until they give me a reason not to.  I believe that is a good way to live, but you have to be ready for the consequences.  People will let you down, they will lie to you, and they will break your heart.  The times before all of that happens though, usually makes it all worth it.

From Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem In Memoriam:27, 1850:

I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

  1. Oh there is many a tale I could tell about past lovers , but all I can say now is ‘I thank the dear Lord that they are now out of my life’

    I have lost count of the many times I have been the fool but I can only think that it is my way of gaining a life experience.
